Our Scripture passage for today comes from Galatians 3:24-28
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are one in Christ Jesus.”.
We are saved through faith in Jesus Christ, and the law had its purpose. The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. We are all one in Christ, Jew and Greek, bond and free, male and female. We are saved by faith in Jesus who provided a way for us to be saved through His paying what we owed God as a result of our sins. Our sins are forgiven through Jesus. Jesus lives in us and works through us. We are a united family in Jesus. All races, nationalities and people are united as one big family of God if we forsake sin and believe in Jesus because of what Jesus has done for us. Let us live as one big Godly family emphasizing our oneness instead of being divided over differences. We want to help each other, not to harm any. Let us be so united around God that nothing can divide us! We are to be free from sin and one with God and one with one another!

Forgiveness is Powerful.
When we forgive, we give a welcome gift to the forgiven. We usually restore a relationship and make that relationship better than it was before. It often affects whole families. Forgiveness is a blessing to the forgiven and to the forgiver.
I was speaking in a country that had been atheistic and was just coming to a recognition of God. I passed on a truth that I had read that when we forgive someone we are to give up the right to ever use that thing against the person forgiven again. When I shared that, there was a shocked silence in the room. Finally a lady spoke up and said, “We can’t do that here, because Russia has no God”. I hadn’t used the word God in my statement, but she realized that to forgive like that we must have God’s help, even though she didn’t know God and had been taught that there isn’t any God. I said, “But He has always been here waiting for you to turn to Him and to give you all the blessings He gives to anyone in the world”.
Not only is it powerful to forgive, it is very important that we do so.
If we don’t forgive, God won’t forgive us. “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you.” “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly father forgive your trespasses.” (Mathew 6:14+15)
If God doesn’t forgive us, we can’t go to Heaven.
We see in Philippians 4:3 that when our sins are forgiven and we believe in Jesus, our names are written in the book of life.
When Judgment time comes, we, who are forgiven, will be invited into Heaven. “Then shall the King say to unto them on his right hand, ‘Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’.”
But…
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

Devotional thoughts for May 16, 2022 come from Hebrews 8:10, “Because this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days says the Lord, giving my laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
This promise has been fulfilled. God had made a new covenant with His people. A covenant is an agreement between two people or between two groups of people or between one person and a group of people. He wrote His law in our hearts. We don't have to teach each other the knowledge of God. God makes Himself known to each one of us. His law is built within us when we are truly saved. He still tells us to grow. We are still to study His words and to prepare the gospel of peace. The basic inner goodness, however, is put there by God Himself. It is a miracle! It is a work that is done in the inner man which shows on the countenance and in the dress and actions of the outer man. Let us cherish this precious gift from God. Let us live in fellowship with our God.

Today let’s look at a verse from Revelation and meditate on it awhile. The verse is: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Rev. 3:10
The simple message here is that God keeps those who keep His word. God keeps those who keep.
Let’s look more closely at what the keepers are keeping. The good keepers of this passage are keeping ‘’the word of my patience”. What is keeping the word of God’s patience? I believe this refers to doing what God wants us to do, with His help, under all circumstances. When it’s easy to do God’s will, we do God’s will with His help. When it’s hard to do God’s will, we do God’s will with His help. We are overcomers with God’s help. First Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that God will always provide a way that we can come through temptation with God’s help without sinning. Here we are promised that we will be kept true to God with God’s help. He will not allow us to be tempted to the point where we have to sin. He will let us be tempted to the point that we can’t get through the temptation without His help. He promises to be there for us in every temptation he allows us to be faced with.
Let’s be kept keepers!
